No. Success means that the XML meets the schema constraints checked by the tool. It does not mean EUDAMED has accepted or registered the articles. XSD is the schema describing the required XML structure; EUDAMED also applies business rules and checks its registered data.
What UDI Studio checks
When you create the file, the tool runs XSD validation in your browser against its bundled schema version. This checks element structure, ordering, data types and schema restrictions. It does not fetch the latest EUDAMED schema for each export or query the live register. Keep the report with the XML: its version and result describe that check, not a registration decision.
What still happens in EUDAMED
EUDAMED checks matters such as the registered BUDI, actor permissions, current update versions and business rules. A correctly structured update can still fail if its source export is out of date. Product information must also match the device: a green result does not verify your product documentation.
If you see an error
- Before download: read the tool’s message, correct the indicated form field or imported value and validate again. Do not remove XML elements manually to bypass required information.
- After EUDAMED upload: download the response XML from Upload Management. Identify the affected article/object and its specific error message.
- Compare the request with your product records and the official data dictionary, business rules and service definition linked below. If an update version is stale, obtain a fresh export before preparing a new request.
- Correct and resubmit only failed objects. Leave successful registrations out of a repeat request.
Save the request XML, validation report and EUDAMED response together. To check schema compatibility, compare the tool’s stated version with the Commission’s technical documentation. Reloading the page alone does not prove its bundled schema has changed.
